The MIP rears its ugly head as week 10 stumps most
Effective date: 2022-11-15
In seemingly fitting fashion, just after the halfway point of the season the MIP has finally shown face. In a week 10 that began with a CAR team blowing up a consensus pick of ATL, it was a foreshadowing of the chaos that was to follow. That being said, we were gifted some entertaining football including one of the best games of the year in MIN vs BUF, regardless on which side of the fence you were sitting on. The moral of the story in week 10...The MIP giveth and the MIP taketh away. BS and DP were in the MIP’s good graces as they boast 9 wins a piece to lead the way and jump into a tie for the second spot. Bold statements by BS and DP who were looking for a spark to get them going. Let’s see what they can do as an encore, but for now a tip of the cap to a couple great performances in a tough week. Aside from our two leaders, no one was able to make much noise as the rest of membership went .500 or worse on their attempts. Safe to say that most are eager to turn the page on what was a painful week.
Although week 10 was tough on the field, it was one of the most fruitful in our loner pick column to date. Out of the 4 loners on display (3 highlighted in red and 1 ghost pick) 3 ended in victories. Unfortunately for SR, his was the one miss of the bunch as DEN couldn’t overtake TEN on the road. On the other side of the isle, BS went a perfect 2-2 taking GB and IND (ghost loner) who both won nail biters, while DR picked one of the biggest upsets of the year by taking WAS over undefeated PHI. Masterful loner picking by the two of you gents!
With the MIP’y week 10 in our rearview, a fresh and hopeful week 11 approaches. Who will bounce back and who will have a MIP hangover? See you in a weeks time with the answers.
Your President,
LF
