SS pushes LF to the brink; sets up an epic postseason pick-off

KS finishes strong to solidify his spot on the podium

Effective date: 2023-01-08
In traditional week 18 PFVCC fashion we went in blind without a trace of goo to be had or a group pick sheet to reference as we anxiously watched the final games of the regular season. There were some great ones today and after it was all said and done it was decided that 18 weeks just wasn't enough. Yes, we are headed to a post season winner-take-all pick off between SS and LF, who both had high hopes heading into the season and apparently still have some work to do for a champion to be crowned. Both had very different routes getting to this point; LF has floated at or near the top for much of the season and thanks to a solid start he was able to give himself enough cushion to stave off a complete collapse. He looks to reclaim the top spot and secure his second championship. Then there is SS. A man on a mission, with one goal and that is to add another trophy in his already crowded trophy case. Just a few short weeks ago he stared at an 8 game deficit and in one of the greatest stretch drives this great league has ever seen, he capped it off with a 12 win week to tie things up. Truly amazing stuff and we look forward to an entertaining playoff between two well deserving members. Speaking of well deserving, KS finished the year strong and grabbed himself a 3rd place finish behind his 11 win week. KS battled all season long and was another picker who put together a fantastic stretch drive to outlast others vying for positioning. A testament to his experience and overall grit, we salute you, KS!!

For sake of length, I will note that loner picks were a 50% success this week. Congrats to all that selected correctly and condolences to those that didn’t. Until next week, SS and LF best of luck in your postseason battle!

Your President,

LF
