And they’re off!! The much anticipated start of the NFL season is behind us, and oh what a crazy week 1 it was. Of the 16 games played this first week, 7 of them were decided by 3 points or less including one tie. Normally that stat wouldn’t turn many heads because “it’s football” and week 1 is always a dog fight, but when games come down to kicking field goals and extra points and kickers miss a combined 15 of those tries- well we all feel the pain! Nevertheless, we were given our beloved football again and that is something we are all excited about. None more excited than BS, JP, KB, LF, NF, PM and SR who tallied a 9-6 record to open the season to take top honors. Well done to the 3 of you that made your picks and a wink and a nod to the other 4 that strategically went with the visiting teams in full confidence!

Checking in on our week 1 loner news and it was quite an impressive showing across the board. DR gets off to a hot start going a perfect 3 for 3 as he capitalized on CHI over SF, PIT over CIN in a thriller, and SEA over DEN on Monday night. What a loner week for DR! DP had the other loner, and although his HOU pick didn’t win, they didn’t lose either so no harm no foul!

After 1 we are full steam ahead. Here’s to the ups and downs to come and joy we get from this great sport! With that I leave you… Welcome to the football season everyone!
